The Rockingham County Gun Club hosted a monthly BIG Saturday February 18th. It started off cool but warmed up nicely and not a cloud in the Carolina blue sky. We got started before 11 and ran three fields for singles. We had 20 singles, 18 handicap and 16 doubles shooters for the event.
Doug Monjeau started out slow on his first 25 and then ran the 2nd. That 47 tied him with Darrell Parham and Doug won the flip. David Parker, James Brown and Allan Davis had 46’s with Gage Malone 45.
Handicap always tells the tale and when the smoke cleared Darrell Parham broke a 47 from the 20 and yes, we had enough shooters to give him a Rockingham ½ yard punch. James “Harlan” Brown and David Parker lucked up by Darrell breaking the higher score because their 42’s was the next highest score. Junior Reese Clayton posted a 41 for the Junior points.
Doubles fielded 16 doubles shooters and Gage Malone was high gun with a 44. Allan Davis was the next high score with a 43 and his three scores 46-40-43 gave him the HOA win with a 129x150. Darrell Parham was very close behind with a 128……
Thanks to all that came out and to all that pitched in and helped run the shoot. Our next BIG50 is scheduled for March 25th and hopefully the weather will be marvelous.
